Come and celebrate Peaks Island style as we share an evening of food, fun and community with our friends from Teen to Trails and Concerned Citizens Defending Democracy. We here at Peaks Island Concerts believe in the power of people, community and sharing experiences in the natural world. Cross culturally and multigenerationally. We are having a summer party and hope you will join us.
Teenagers are losing their connection with nature at an accelerated pace—and we’re working to reverse that trend. At Teens to Trails, they believe that being outdoors provides essential nourishment, inspiration, and wholeness. We believe in the power of time spent in nature and in the importance of experiencing it together.
This year, Teens to Trails helped over 7000 teens across Maine build meaningful connections to the outdoors and to each other. School Outdoor Clubs have become spaces where students from all backgrounds find belonging, break down social barriers, and form lifelong habits of wellness. We’ve seen what’s possible when we build community through shared outdoor play—and we want to celebrate that with you.
Please join us in recognition of an incredible year—one rooted in collaboration, inclusion, and the healthy risks that lead to growth.
We will serve sandwiches from Cheese Louise and drinks. We intend this gathering to be informal and hassle free, so feel free to BYO picnic, and come as you are. We will serve what we have til it runs out. This will be a potluck, share the joy and eat what’s available kind of event. We will share food and dance - communal joy is a form of healthy resistance.
Music provided by Portland Intown Old Time Jam Band for contradancing and connection with our friends, as part of the Peaks Island concert series.
Concerned Citizens Defending Democracy will be serving up homemade ice-cream sandwiches to raise funds for Mainers for Humane Immigration- an existing group that springs into action doing whatever is needed for our immigrant community.
